8-Ball

Break, then the first ball you pot sets your group — solids or stripes. Clear your group, then pot the 8 in the pocket you call. Scratches, hitting the wrong ball first, or no rail after contact give your opponent ball in hand. The 8 early or on a foul loses the rack.

Straight Pool

Every legally potted ball is a point. After the break, the ball you aim at is called automatically with the pocket it is heading for (press C / Y or tap a pocket to change it). When one ball remains, the other fourteen are re-racked. Fouls cost a point; three in a row cost fifteen more.

Snooker

Pot a red (1), then any colour — the colour you strike first is your nomination — which is respotted. When the reds are gone, clear the colours in order: yellow 2, green 3, brown 4, blue 5, pink 6, black 7. Fouls give 4–7 points away; when snookered after a foul you get a free ball.
